2010: The Year Of Action

Preping for 2010 pic

When we think of the word active, we probably think “exercise”. Physical activity is a necessary and noble pursuit, but for 2010, we’re going to broaden our perspective.

-Mentally Active: To be mentally active is to be aware of, monitoring, and in control of your thoughts.  Left to its own devices, the mind will take us places we don’t want to go – to a past that no longer exists, to mistakes we made that we cannot overcome and are stuck in, to automatic behaviors we adopt from advertisements, marketing or anything else in our environment, even though it may not serve us and may even hurt us.  Our task this year is to be the Lord or Lady of our Mental Kingdom.  To be in control of our thoughts, to determine which ones stay, which ones go, to generate the ones we would like to see grow. In short, to become, internally in our thoughts, the person we would like to be externally.  Being mentally active is to stop being guided by a wild animal and to finally take the reigns of this powerful tool and create the reality you want for yourself and others.

-Electrochemically Active: Food is both an electric and a chemical reactant in our bodies. To be electrochemically active is to be aware and in control of what we put in our bodies so that we can get the reactions that we desire. We need to be active in this aspect of our lives or it will become increasingly more difficult to be in charge of our mind, and, consequently, of our lives. This is because our brain, the home of our mind, is a place where all sorts of electrochemical reactions are taking place, and it is these reactions – activated by chemicals we call food and drink – that will make us feel either more energetic, sleepy, ecstatic, depressed, centered and focused, perturbed and confused, happy, sad, powerful or helpless. These results will either be useful to you and help you, or they will be counterproductive and hinder you. Make no mistake: Every single thing you choose to put in our mouth will have a chemical consequence on your mood, your health and your life. It is time to understand that eating and drinking is a crucial component of how you create your reality.

-Spiritually Active: What is the larger picture here? Beyond the daily grind of social interactions, work, and sleep, what are we doing here on Earth?  We are here to grow, to evolve and elevate. We are here to learn about ourselves, who we are, how we are, why we are. We are here to set things right, because, on most accounts, we have things backwards and these backward concepts are costing us our health, our sanity, our ozone and the lifespan of our planet. Being spiritually active means being aware of our connection to all things inside and outside of us, and to apply the best possible thoughts, words and deeds to those relationships.  Action implies movement, and movement implies change.  Times are changing.  You are changing.  It is time to wake up and take control of those changes, to generate them rather than get kicked in the butt by them.  This goes for us individually, and for the planet as a whole.  What do you want your world to be?

In the next few days, HLife will provide information to prepare you on these three fundamental levels – mentally (mind), electrochemically (body), and spiritually (spirit) – for a new year, a year of lasting change, the year we take control of our lives.

Let’s get active.
